AllGarbe, rooted in maritime culinary traditions, is the meeting point for lovers of fish and seafood.

Formerly known as Algarbe Alandalus (Gharb al-Ândalus), referring to the western part of Moorish Andalusia that gave rise to the toponym Algarve, its deep influence can still be seen today in the region’s linguistic, artistic, and architectural heritage.

It is the history, customs, and soul of this region that we preserve in our name and in the walls adorned with tile panels, evoking the grandeur of “the people of our land” — Portimão.

This is a fully Algarvian restaurant, with a team mostly composed of local staff who know the best the region has to offer. All products are local and fresh, prepared on the spot, keeping the flavors of each ingredient intact, just like in traditional cooking.

From the sea to your table, we bring fresh fish from the Algarve coast, either slowly grilled or cooked in various ways, preserving all the juices that make your mouth water. Not forgetting the “queen” of Portimão, celebrated in our logo, the beautiful small sardine, famous when grilled and dripping over bread, served with a delicious Algarvian salad with oregano and peppers.

And who hasn’t yet tasted our exquisite dishes such as marinated mackerel (prepared in the fishermen’s style), Tavira tuna steak, razor clam rice, whelk stew, seafood rice, Algarvian-style baby squid, or clams with cornmeal?

If you haven’t, you really don’t know what you’re missing!

But it doesn’t stop there — we have a wide variety of seafood waiting for you: fresh canilhas and carabineiros from the Algarve coast, Quarteira prawns, clams, cockles, berbigão clams, and oysters from the Ria de Alvor Nature Reserve, finishing with crabs, lobsters, and spider crabs housed in our two reef aquariums.

Start with starters such as crab roe paste, alheira balls with garlic mayonnaise, or a little AllGarbe gazpacho, followed by fried cuttlefish roe with tartar sauce or a fried moray eel. For the main fish course, you can choose the traditional AllGarbe-style cod, our wide variety of fresh grilled fish (meagre, grouper, red mullet…), or a juicy gilt-head bream or sea bass baked in salt. If you prefer meat, we have excellent options such as AllGarbe-style pork loin steak or slow-cooked lamb shank.

For dessert, enjoy the AllGarbe sweet, almond cake, the refinement of our land’s flavors with fig flambéed with medronho and almonds, or carob and lemon tart.

And as a good table should be abundant with friends, snacks, and a good wine (highlighting our signature Arvad wine, which brings the full flavor of the Algarve lands).
